Charlie Evans grew up always playing around with engines. His Uncle Warden taught him how to re-build his very first engine on a little 50 cc lawn mower. Charlie continued to take it apart and rebuild it until he had a desire to move onto more powerful engines. Born and raised in the race car Mecca of Owensboro, KY, Charlie and his high school buddies could always be found underneath the hood of a car tinkering with an engine.
After completing his undergraduate degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College and receiving a Masters Degree in Education from Western Kentucky University, Evans was a middle school science teacher for thirty one years. During that time he continued his hobby of restoring hot rods. After he retired from teaching, his hobby of working on cars has turned into a full time business. Word of mouth continued to spread about the quality of Evans’ work and before long; he was getting calls from racers all of the country requesting an engine built by Charlie Evans.
